Terms of service

Last updated

Draft: pending UK legal review. This document is a working draft and will be reviewed by a UK solicitor before JobsAnswered launches.

These terms apply between [Company legal name] ("JobsAnswered") and the business that subscribes ("you"). JobsAnswered is a business-to-business service.

1. The service

JobsAnswered provides a managed call answering service: an automated receptionist that answers calls forwarded from your business number, collects enquiry details, sends you summaries by text, and, depending on your plan, transfers calls and books appointments. We set up and maintain your configuration based on the information you give us.

2. Plans and prices

  • Reception: £99 + VAT per month.
  • Office: £149 + VAT per month.
  • No setup fee unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  • Plans are billed monthly in advance and roll monthly.

3. Fair use

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of receptionist call time (Reception 300 minutes, Office 600 minutes) for normal use by a single trade business. We monitor usage and will contact you if you approach or exceed it. We will not apply additional charges without your agreement; we may propose a plan change or an agreed overage rate. We may limit clearly abusive use (for example automated or nuisance calls) after notifying you.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information about your business, services, areas, hours, prices you allow to be stated and emergency arrangements, and tell us when it changes.
  • Make sure the people you nominate for transfers are willing to receive calls.
  • Keep your own phone forwarding in place, and tell us if you change numbers.
  • Use the service lawfully and not for unsolicited marketing.
  • You are responsible for your work, your advice to customers and your attendance decisions.

5. What the receptionist will and won't do

The receptionist follows your approved configuration. By design it will not diagnose faults, give repair or safety advice beyond fixed approved safety wording, quote prices you haven't approved, or promise attendance times. For gas, carbon monoxide or danger to life it directs callers to the National Gas Emergency Service (0800 111 999) or 999. It is not an emergency service and does not replace one.

6. No outbound AI cold calling

JobsAnswered does not make unsolicited outbound AI calls on your behalf, and you must not use it to do so.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability and use fallbacks (such as voicemail) if a provider fails, but we cannot guarantee every call will be answered or every text delivered. Texts that fail are retried and backed up by email where possible.

8. Data protection

For caller data we act as your processor under our data processing terms, which form part of these terms. You are the controller for your callers' data and are responsible for having a lawful basis and giving any required notices (for example, if you choose to record calls).

9. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month. We don't delete your data immediately: you can export it for 90 days after cancellation, after which it is deleted in line with our retention schedule. Unpaid invoices may result in suspension after a grace period and notice.

10. Liability

Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid in that period, and we are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity, including jobs not won.

11. Changes

We may change these terms with at least 30 days' notice. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change takes effect.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
